Michelle Cahill escreve poesia e ficção. Foi vencedora do prémios Arts Queensland Val Vallis, KWS Hilary Mantel International Short Story Prize e foi finalista no Prémio ABR Elizabeth Jolley. O seu livro mais recente, The Herring Lass foi publicado pela Arc, UK. Michelle Cahill editou Contemporary Asian Australian Poets, juntamente com Adam Aitken e Kim Cheng Boey.
A sua obra estreia, Letter to Pessoa venceu o Prémio UTS Glenda Adams, e o NSW Premier’s Literary Awards.
